What is Steps of Valor?
Steps of Valor is a nonprofit organization supporting first responders and their families through programs, resources, community initiatives, and remembrance events.
Is the stair climb the whole organization?
No. The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is the current public event. No other events are being promoted yet.
When is the event?
The 2026 Steps of Valor 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is September 11, 2026. Event-day check-in opens at 6:45 AM and the memorial climb begins at 8:03 AM.
Where is the event?
The event is at University of Texas at Arlington Maverick Stadium, 1307 W Mitchell St, Arlington, TX 76013. Arrival guidance will be posted before event day.
How do I register?
Registration has two required steps. First, submit the Steps of Valor event registration form on the Register page. Second, complete the required UTA MavEngage Participant Release and Indemnification Agreement linked on that same page.
Do I have to complete the UTA waiver?
Yes. Every participant must complete the required UTA participant waiver before attending the event.
Do I have to complete the full climb?
Move at a safe pace, respect your limits, and follow event staff instructions throughout the climb.
Can I donate without attending?
Yes. Donations are open through the official Spotfund fundraiser linked on the Donate page.
Is my donation tax deductible?
The sponsor packet identifies Steps of Valor as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Please keep your donation receipt and consult a tax professional for personal tax guidance.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable athletic shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Bring a water bottle and follow any final event-day guidance from organizers.
Where do proceeds go?
Proceeds support the Steps of Valor mission of serving first responders and their families. Military Heroes Campaign and Arlington Professional Fire Fighters Charitable Fund remain featured causes connected to the community effort.
How can a business sponsor?
Sponsorship levels range from $250 to $5,000. Download the sponsor packet on the Sponsors page for tier benefits and commitment details.
What is Kappa Sigma's role?
Kappa Sigma Theta Omega is a community partner. The organization is Steps of Valor.
